ASSISTANT CITY LIBRARIAN
The City of Santa Clara is seeking an Assistant City Librarian. This is a professional
managerial position in the unclassified service. The incumbent in this position
administers, manages, and coordinates major library divisions, functions
as the library's project manager for specialized projects and is responsible
for the operation of the library in the absence of the City Librarian. The
position requires a Masters Degree in Library/Information Science from an
American Library Association accredited library school; and four years of
increasingly responsible professional library experience, at least two years

The Assistant City Librarian annual salary is normally appointed at 85% of
Control Point, which is approximately $115,128. Hiring above that amount may
be considered, based on qualifications and years of experience, up to the normal
top of the range Control Point of $135,444. Merit progression above the hiring
salary is awarded at the discretion of the City Manager based on outstanding
performance. To receive first consideration for the screening process, the
